APC Tells Adeleke to Spare Tinubu and Oyetola, Take Responsibility for His Own Problems

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress is calling on Governor Ademola Adeleke to stop blaming President Bola Tinubu and former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for his political troubles.

In a statement issued on Tuesday in Osogbo, the party's spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, noted that Adeleke had accused Tinubu and Oyetola of being behind his political woes during a campaign rally in Osogbo on Monday.

Adeleke reportedly reminded Tinubu that he had endorsed him as the presidential candidate of the Accord Party in the 2027 election, despite feeling persecuted by him, according to Olabisi.

Additionally, Adeleke accused the police of being compromised against his government and asserted his role as the state's Chief Security Officer, Olabisi said.

Olabisi expressed disappointment with Adeleke's allegations against Tinubu and Oyetola, stating that the governor was actually responsible for promoting and funding political violence in the state.

Adeleke's claims against Tinubu and Oyetola were deemed "unsubstantiated" and "frivolous" by Olabisi, who believes they are an attempt to justify his likely defeat in the upcoming governorship election.

Olabisi questioned why Adeleke had not explained why he had turned the State Government House into a refuge for wanted political hoodlums and why he had given them lucrative appointments.

Furthermore, Olabisi wondered why Adeleke was granting amnesty to dangerous political thugs serving jail terms, just days before the governorship election.

Adeleke's allegations of political persecution were seen as baseless by Olabisi, who pointed out that the governor's endorsement of Tinubu was voluntary and did not entitle him to expect a free pass in the election.

Olabisi suggested that if Adeleke had indeed performed well as governor, the upcoming election on 15th August, 2026, would be an opportunity for him to prove it.

While acknowledging Adeleke's role as the state's Chief Security Officer, Olabisi asked why the governor had been linked to a series of security breaches in the state.
