APC leader explains why Adamawa is likely to back Tinubu again in the 2027 election

Aliyu Abbati, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress and a senatorial aspirant for Adamawa Central, has made a bold declaration that President Bola Tinubu faces no opposition in Adamawa State as the 2027 presidential election approaches.

Notably, Adamawa is the home state of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who is the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, highlighting the significance of Abbati's statement.

In a recent conversation with journalists in Yola on Monday, Abbati, an agricultural scientist, economist, and policy strategist, attributed President Tinubu's anticipated victory in the state to strategic federal appointments, including the appointment of Nuhu Ribadu as National Security Adviser.

Abbati advised President Tinubu to focus his campaign efforts on other states, suggesting that the outcome in Adamawa is already secured, thanks in large part to Ribadu's influence, stating "Ribadu has finished his presidential election victory" in the state.

The Tinubu administration has been praised by Abbati for providing Adamawa with more federal appointments than previous administrations, a development he believes will yield significant benefits for the state.

Abbati cited the recent appointment of Abdulrazaq Namdas, an Adamawa State citizen, as Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency, as evidence of the President's commitment to the state, asking rhetorically, "What else do we need again for us to give the president 99.9 per cent of our votes?"

The creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development and the appointment of an Adamawa indigene as minister were also highlighted by Abbati as testaments to President Tinubu's dedication to the state's prosperity.

As an economist and policy strategist specializing in agriculture, Abbati recognized the potential of the Ministry of Livestock Development to generate substantial wealth for Adamawa State, potentially surpassing that of oil-producing states.

President Tinubu's economic policies, particularly the focus on rural areas through the Ministry of Livestock, were seen by Abbati as a means of addressing insecurity by providing opportunities for youth who might otherwise be recruited by criminal groups.

Abbati urged Nigerians to support President Tinubu, suggesting that opposition to the administration stems from policies that prioritize the interests of rural communities.
