APC gives Kano governor green light for reelection campaign

The All Progressives Congress has given Abba Yusuf the green light to run for a second term as governor of Kano State in the 2027 election.

This decision was announced in a statement released on Friday by Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor's spokesperson, which outlined the successful screening process.

The screening was conducted by a committee headed by APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda at the Plateau Governor's Lodge, following the submission of Yusuf's nomination and screening forms.

Yilwatda expressed the party's satisfaction with the governor's performance and eligibility for re-election, stating that Yusuf had met all the necessary constitutional and party requirements.

After a thorough review of the submitted documents, the committee confirmed that Abba Kabir Yusuf had fulfilled the requirements to contest for a second term under the APC platform.

Yilwatda noted that the governor had demonstrated a strong commitment to governance, party unity, and the development of Kano State, resulting in his clearance as the sole aspirant for the APC governorship ticket.

In response to the screening outcome, Yusuf thanked the party leadership for their trust and support, saying it would inspire him to continue delivering meaningful development and improving the lives of the people.

Yusuf reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining policies that promote peace, economic growth, and inclusive governance in the state, prioritizing education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth empowerment, and economic opportunities for all citizens.

The governor envisioned a Kano where every citizen feels included, protected, and empowered, and he vowed to continue building on this vision.
