Anambra Assembly confirms Soludo’s second batch of commissioner-nominees

The Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed the second batch of commissioner-nominees submitted by the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.

The commissioners include Henry Arinze(Housing); and Nonso Ebonwu(Commerce).

Soludo had submitted their names to the state House of Assembly for screening and confirmation on Wednesday.

However, they were confirmed by the lawmakers on Thursday, after the report presented by the Committee on Screening and Electoral Matters led by Deputy Speaker, Chukwuma Okoye.

Presenting the report, Okoye, said the nominees met all statutory requirements for public office and possessed the requisite academic qualifications and professional experience.

The Speaker, Somtochukwu Udeze told them that their confirmation was a call to serve, and noted that the Governor had placed significant trust in the nominees, and that Ndi Anambra expected much from them.

Udeze urged them to remember they are working for the people of Anambra, and to let their conduct reflect that responsibility.

In a vote of thanks, the Commissioner for Housing, Henry Arinze, thanked the House for the confirmation and pledged to work diligently in service of the state.

Recall that the Anambra State House of Assembly had earlier on Wednesday, confirmed the 18 commissioner-nominees sent to the House by the state governor, Chukwuma Soludo.
