American authorities 'unfazed' by claims of Russian support for Iran, says government representative

On Friday, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth expressed a lack of concern regarding reports that Russia is supplying Iran with intelligence on the positions and movements of US troops.
nHegseth, during an interview with CBS's "60 Minutes," stated that US commanders are fully informed and that the country possesses the world's best intelligence, allowing them to stay aware of all relevant interactions.
nThe defense secretary emphasized that the US is capable of mitigating any potential threats as needed, underscoring the country's confidence in its ability to manage the situation.
nEarlier on Friday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also downplayed the report of Russia providing targeting information to Iran, citing the success of US military operations in the region.
nLeavitt told reporters that the US is achieving its military objectives and that the alleged intelligence sharing is not impacting the outcome of operations, as the US is "completely decimating" its targets.
nThe Washington Post reported, based on information from officials familiar with the intelligence, that Russia has shared the locations of various US military assets, including ships and aircraft, with Iran.
nA recent drone attack on a US base in Kuwait resulted in the deaths of six US service members on Sunday, and the CIA station in Riyadh has also been targeted.
nAccording to The Post, there is no indication that China is providing assistance to Iran's defense efforts, despite China's established diplomatic and trade ties with Iran.
nRussia and China have historically maintained close relationships with Iran, with Russia having particularly strong military links to the country, and both nations have expressed criticism of the US-Israeli conflict with Iran.
