Algeria edges out Jordan with 2-1 victory in World Cup matchup

Algeria staged a comeback to defeat Jordan 2-1 in a World Cup Group J match on Monday, thereby ending Jordan's tournament run.
nThe Algerian team trailed initially, but Amine Gouiri leveled the score by canceling out Nizar al-Rashdan’s opening goal.
nNadhir Benbouali then scored the winning goal for Algeria in the 82nd minute, in a game that took place in Santa Clara.
nThis victory has revived Algeria's hopes of advancing to the knockout stage, provided they secure a win against Austria in their upcoming match in Kansas City on Saturday.
nEarlier on Monday, Austria suffered a 2-0 loss to Argentina, which has positioned Argentina at the top of Group J with six points.
nBoth Austria and Algeria currently have three points each in the standings.
nMeanwhile, Jordan is set to face Argentina in Arlington, Texas on Saturday, marking their final appearance in the tournament.
