Air Peace grounds Lagos to London route due to mechanical issue

Air Peace has announced a temporary disruption to its scheduled Lagos–London Gatwick flight after a routine technical check detected a minor fault on the aircraft, prompting the airline to take immediate action to address the issue.

The discovery was made after passengers had already boarded the aircraft, at which point the airline withdrew the plane from service in accordance with established safety procedures, as stated by the airline’s management on Saturday via its X handle.

According to the airline, the issue was identified during a routine post-boarding technical check, which revealed a minor aircraft fault requiring immediate attention, and as a result, all passengers were safely disembarked while engineers attended to the problem.

Air Peace emphasized that passenger safety is its top priority, and the decision to suspend the flight was necessary despite the inconvenience it caused to travellers, with the airline noting that it always prioritizes the safety and wellbeing of its passengers and crew over operational schedules.
