African Democratic Congress starts distributing nomination forms in anticipation of upcoming party conference

The African Democratic Congress has opened the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for its upcoming Ward, Local Government, State Congresses, and National Convention.

ADC invites interested party members to purchase the relevant forms to contest for any elective position within the party.

The announcement was made in a notice signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Pa Idigo, and shared via X on Sunday.

The cost of the forms varies by position.

At the ward level, the Expression of Interest Form costs N2,000, while nomination fees are N10,000 for Ward Chairman, N5,000 for Ward Secretary, and N3,000 for other ward officers.

At the local government level, LGA Chairman forms cost N40,000, LGA Secretary N30,000, and other LGA officers N10,000 each.

For state-level positions, State Chairman forms are N500,000, State Secretary N300,000, and other state officers N50,000 each.

For the National Convention, nomination fees are N10,000 per delegate, with each LGA required to send one delegate.

The notice added that each aspirant must secure the required number of nominators, and each nominator must pay a non-refundable fee of N50.

Candidates for Ward Chairman must have 10 nominators, while other ward officers need five each.

At the LG level, chairman aspirants are required to have 20 nominators spread across the local government area, and other LGA officers must secure 10 each.

State Chairman candidates must obtain 50 nominators from across the state, with at least one from each LGA, while other state officers require 20 nominators each.

“The sale and submission of the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms will close on Friday, 27th March 2026. No late submissions will be accepted.

“Screening is scheduled for 30th to 31st March 2026. All aspirants are advised to comply strictly with these guidelines and the published guidelines for the congresses,” the notice added.

PUNCH Online reports that this follows the recent release of the ADC’s timetable for the 2026 congresses.

According to Idigo, polling unit and ward congresses will hold on April 7, local government area congresses on April 9, and state congresses on April 11.n

The process will culminate in the party’s National Convention scheduled for April 14.
