Adeleke cautions construction company to adhere to scheduled completion date

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has issued a stern warning to the contractor handling the Lagere flyover and road dualisation project in Ile-Ife, urging them to avoid any further delays. The warning was conveyed through a statement signed by the governor's spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.

Adeleke's warning came during an inspection of the projects, where he was accompanied by Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi and Commissioner for Special Duties Bashiru Salami, and emphasized that the April deadline for the projects must be met.

Adeleke expressed his dissatisfaction with the slow pace of work on the project, deeming it "totally unacceptable" and stressing that the government would not tolerate any further setbacks. He reiterated his commitment to completing the project on time, as promised to the Oonirisa and the people of Ile-Ife.

Before inspecting the flyover, Adeleke had flagged off the rehabilitation of the Gbalefefefe-Omi-Igbin-Koola-Asabi Famia Road in Modakeke, and assured residents of ongoing road projects, including the completed Celestial-Ajape and AP-Oronna roads.

Adeleke addressed the residents of Modakeke, stating that his government was dedicated to delivering the dividends of democracy and bringing verifiable developments across all facets of life.

The Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Joseph Toriola, commended Adeleke's attention to the town's developmental needs and assured him of the community's continuous support.

Oba Toriola praised Adeleke, describing him as a major ally and supporter of the Modakeke people in their developmental journey, and expressed gratitude for the governor's initiatives.

The Lagere flyover project, which was awarded to Messrs. Sammya Nigeria Limited at a cost of N14.9 billion, is scheduled for completion within 12 months, according to reports by PUNCH.

Adeleke also disclosed that rehabilitation work has commenced on 55.86km of local government roads across Ife land, at a cost of N30.6 billion, and enumerated completed projects in the four local government areas in Ife land.

Adeleke assured that efforts would continue to improve infrastructure in recognition of Ile-Ife's status as the cradle of the Yoruba race, highlighting his government's commitment to development in the region.
