Adeleke Calls on Osun Residents to Stand by Their Ballots

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, urged voters to participate in the upcoming governorship poll by casting their ballots and protecting their votes, embodying the principles of democracy, on Friday.

A statement issued by Olawale Rasheed, the governor's spokesperson, revealed that Adeleke made this appeal during separate visits to the palaces of Ajalaye of Ipetu-Ijesha and the Elegboro of Ijebu Ijesha in the state.

During his visits to the palaces, Adeleke was accompanied by top leaders of the Imole Campaign Council and his cousin, renowned Afrobeats artist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, as he sought to garner support for his re-election bid.

Adeleke emphasized the importance of voters exercising their constitutional right to vote, stating that "no force can deny Osun voters their democratic rights" and encouraging them to demonstrate courage and determination in doing so.

Reiterating a sentiment expressed by Davido, the governor asserted that Osun residents have the inalienable right to free and fair elections and are prepared to protect and affirm this right on August 15th.

At the palace of Ajalaye of Ipetujesa, Oba Adeleke Oke praised the governor's exceptional performance over the past four years, assuring him of the total support of his people on August 15.

Oba Oke hosted a victory prayer session, featuring interfaith activities, to invoke triumph for the Accord party over opposition forces, and expressed his confidence in the governor's re-election, saying "You will win the second term and you will deliver even more than you have done in your first term."

The monarch further stated, "My people are eager to continue to be part of a good turn of events in the state," as he welcomed the governor to the palace.

At campaign rallies held in Ipetu-Ijesha and Ijebu-Jesa, Adeleke expressed his confidence in an imminent victory and urged the people to intensify mobilization efforts to ensure continuity.

Adeleke assured his supporters that their security and safety were guaranteed, and encouraged them to mobilize their relatives and friends to vote for good governance and to reap the benefits of democracy.

The governor told his supporters at both Ipetu-Ijesha and Ijebu-Jesa, "Ijesa people, Osun people cannot be scared, we are people of courage, vote and defend your votes."
