ADC Reps aspirant pledges to liberate constituency

The African Democratic Congress aspirant for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections, Kingsley Chibuike Obiukwu has presented his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to his constituents for their blessings.

Obiukwu, during the presentation, pledged to liberate members of the constituency from sufferings, backwardness, through empowerment, education and quality representation at the National Assembly.

The event that took place over the weekend at three different venues in St Michael’s Catholic Church, Amakwa, Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area, G-Meridian 59 Multi-purpose Event Centre, Obiofia, Nnewi North LGA and Salvation Army Church Field, Ebeh, Ukpor, Nnewi South LGA, attracted over 10,000 women, youths and men from the constituency.

Obiukwu, who went round the hall to show his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to those present, said he chose to present the forms to them first before showing them to any other person, because the forms belong to them.

While later addressing journalists at the event, Obiukwu promised to work for his constituents.

He said, “My people have been suffering and have become backward due to neglect, but time has come for them to be liberated. I promise to empower the women and youth with skills and start-ups to establish something meaningful for themselves.

“When women are empowered, the entire families and society are empowered. And in the same vein, when youths are empowered, crimes would be drastically reduced in our society.

“Youths are leaders of today and no longer leaders of tomorrow. We will work very well to ensure that our youths and women are empowered to be financially independent, and also contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of our society.”
