Actress Tayo Adeniyi advises women not to revolve their lives around having a spouse and kids.

Tayo Adeniyi, a prominent Nollywood actress, has issued a heartfelt appeal to women, particularly those in their late 30s and 40s, to redefine their notion of a fulfilling life beyond the realms of marriage and childbearing.
nThrough a video shared on her social media platform on Wednesday, Adeniyi encouraged women to adopt a more nuanced perspective, emphasizing that happiness and fulfillment can be attained without marriage or children.
nAddressing women who have struggled to marry or have children despite their best efforts, Adeniyi offered words of solace, urging them to prioritize their well-being over societal expectations.
nShe passionately advised women to "de-centre" marriage and children, stating, "You do not have to get married and you do not have to have kids also," and emphasizing that a woman's sense of self-worth should not be defined by these factors.
nAdeniyi stressed that women can lead whole and fulfilling lives without a husband or children, saying, "You can be whole without these things, you can be a whole you without having kids, without having a man in your life."
nShe cautioned women against tolerating unhealthy relationships solely to meet societal expectations, saying, "Don't put up with nonsense because you want to be married or because you want to have children, it's not worth it."
nAdeniyi further emphasized the importance of living a happy and meaningful life, unencumbered by societal pressures, stating, "You can be happy without children, you can be happy without a husband, life has changed, seasons have changed."
nIn a subsequent Instagram post, Adeniyi elaborated on the concept of "decentralising" marriage and children, explaining that it entails refusing to make these aspects the cornerstone of one's identity.
nShe wrote, "Decentralising marriage and children means refusing to make them the center of your worth, they can be beautiful blessings, but they are not the only measure of a meaningful life."
nAdeniyi concluded by encouraging women to prioritize self-love and self-acceptance, saying, "Purpose, peace, service, growth, and love also create a life that matters, please love yourself first, you are enough."
