Abuja Rotary Club Retains Oramah in Top Position for Another Term

Members of the Rotary Club of Abuja Sapphire have re-elected Dr Pat Oramah as president for another Rotary year, making him the first person to secure a second consecutive term since the club was established.

The announcement followed the expiration of his first tenure on June 30, with members unanimously endorsing him to continue leading the club.

According to a statement from the Rotary Club of Abuja Sapphire, the decision reflected members’ confidence in Oramah’s leadership and the progress recorded during his first year in office.

“In a historic first for the club, Dr Pat Oramah will continue in office following the expiration of his first term on June 30, 2026.

n

The unanimous decision was a resounding vote of confidence in his visionary leadership,” the statement said.

It noted that under his leadership, the club expanded its humanitarian activities and earned recognition within Rotary District 9127 for the impact of its community service projects.

The statement said Abuja Sapphire received the Area of Focus Excellence Award in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene from Rotary District 9127 in recognition of projects that delivered measurable benefits to communities.

The club also received special recognition for its contributions to Rotary programmes and activities during the Rotary year.

“Within just one year, Dr Oramah led the club to unprecedented heights. Under his stewardship, the club secured multiple awards and national recognition. Members widely described him as an extraordinary philanthropist and the best President in the history of Abuja Sapphire,” the statement added.

Beyond Rotary, Oramah serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sepat Pharmaceuticals Company.

The statement also highlighted his investments in youth and sports development through the Oramah Football Academy and DECO Sports City in Kaura, Abuja.

It said the facilities were established to nurture young football talents and promote sports participation and healthy living.

The statement further noted that Oramah, a Paul Harris Fellow, was recognised during the Rotary year as the second-highest individual donor to both The Rotary Foundation and Rotary District 9127.

“In further testament to his commitment to service, Oramah was recognised as the second-highest individual donor to both The Rotary Foundation and Rotary District 9127 for the Rotary year,” the statement said.
