2027: Senator urges Nigerians to re-elect Tinubu in 2027

As political campaigns have taken off across the country, the senator representing Ondo Central Senatorial District of Ondo State, Adeniyi Adegbonmire, has called on Nigerians to vote for President Bola Tinubu for a second term and support other candidates of the All Progressives Congress in the 2027 general election.

Adegbonmire, who is also the APC candidate for Ondo Central Senatorial District, said the Tinubu administration deserved a second term to consolidate the ongoing people-oriented projects it had embarked upon.

He stated this while speaking on Adaba FM, Akure, on Thursday. The federal lawmaker said the President was working day and night to bring succour to Nigerians and fix the country.

According to him, the reforms being undertaken by the Tinubu administration should be viewed as processes designed to produce enduring solutions rather than temporary measures.

He said, “I want to call on Nigerians, particularly the people of Ondo Central, to support President Bola Tinubu, himself and other APC candidates across all levels in the 2027 elections.

“The Renewed Hope administration needs continuity to consolidate the reforms and projects already underway.

n

“Things are being done in phases, but the President is building systems and institutions that will endure. For that reason, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves commendation for his courage and commitment.”

Adegbonmire highlighted what he described as significant investments by the Tinubu administration in infrastructure and economic development, including the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, renewed attention to rail infrastructure, investments in airport infrastructure and aviation safety, as well as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, which provides education financing to students in tertiary institutions.

He also commended the Tinubu administration’s efforts to improve foreign exchange stability, saying greater predictability in the exchange-rate environment would enable manufacturers and importers to make longer-term business plans.

The senator further pointed to the growth of Nigeria’s foreign exchange reserves to above $50bn, arguing that “stronger reserves can help improve investors’ confidence and strengthen the country’s ability to withstand external economic pressures.”

Speaking about his achievements within his first three years in the 10th National Assembly, Adegbonmire said he had focused on education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth development, empowerment and human capital development.

As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, he said he had played a significant role in matters concerning justice, human rights and the rule of law.

He also sponsored what he described as life-changing bills designed to deliver long-term benefits to his constituents and contribute to national development, adding that he had facilitated educational intervention projects valued at more than N800m at Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure.

He also listed the construction of modern classroom facilities at St Helens Unity Secondary School, Ondo, and modern classrooms at Owobamibo, Ofosu, in Idanre Local Government Area, as well as the renovation of classrooms at St Thomas and St Andrew Primary School in Akure South Local Government Area, among others.
