2027: Ogundipe Sets Record Straight Regarding Ogun ADC's Governorship Nomination

Biodun Ogundipe has reaffirmed his intention to become the next governor of Ogun State, stating that his candidacy remains unchallenged as the 2027 African Democratic Congress governorship candidate, recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission and endorsed by the party's leadership.

Ogundipe's decision to enter politics stems from his desire to provide practical solutions to the state's pressing issues, including bad governance, insecurity, and underdevelopment, which have plagued the residents of Ogun State.

As a tech expert in Artificial Intelligence, Ogundipe plans to harness technology to combat crime and ensure the safety of residents, allowing them to live without fear and enabling businesses to flourish.

Ogundipe made these remarks during a meeting with journalists in the state on Monday, where he addressed the controversy surrounding the party's governorship candidate.

The ADC governorship candidate clarified that there was no parallel governorship primary, and he emerged as the winner of the party's ticket after defeating Jimi Lawal and Marie Odusina, describing any alternative narrative as mere propaganda.

Ogundipe explained that he contested the primary alongside other aspirants, and votes from the 18 local government areas were counted in the presence of party agents, with disputes arising over results from two local governments.

The disputed results led to an agreement to conduct a rerun in the two affected local governments, with the Department of State Service present throughout the process and journalists witnessing the proceedings.

Ogundipe argued that if someone loses an election and then declares themselves the winner, it cannot be considered valid, and the national leadership of the ADC has submitted his name to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

According to Ogundipe, the party has advised anyone with grievances to pursue the internal appeal process or seek legal redress, and as far as the party's leadership is concerned, he remains the duly recognised ADC governorship candidate for Ogun State.

Ogundipe, also known as BCO, stated that his motivation for joining politics stems from the pain of seeing people living below acceptable standards, with children out of school, graduates without jobs, and parents struggling to make ends meet.

He expressed his inability to sit idly by, knowing he has the skills to address the pains of the people and leverage the state's potential to liberate residents from poverty.

Ogundipe's administration would be guided by the "Ogun One Economic Blueprint," a development plan prepared over 19 months, which would provide tailored economic strategies for different parts of the state.

The blueprint is based on research, and Ogundipe argued that every local government has its unique economic potential, requiring distinct development strategies, such as those for Ipokia and Sagamu.

Ogundipe criticised successive governments for their misplaced priorities, arguing that governance should focus on addressing the immediate needs of ordinary citizens, such as pensioners waiting years for gratuities or contributory pensions not being remitted.

He identified security as his administration's top priority, promising to deploy technology-driven intelligence systems to tackle crime, and with his experience in artificial intelligence, he believes Ogun State can become significantly safer within 12 months.

Ogundipe's experience working on intelligence solutions for multinational organisations has equipped him with the expertise needed to improve security across the state, and he plans to utilise technology-driven intelligence solutions to detect criminal activities before they happen.

If state policing becomes operational, Ogundipe intends to deploy modern intelligence systems to improve security, and he expressed confidence in his party's chances in the 2027 governorship election, relying on technology to safeguard votes.

Ogundipe assured the people that every lawful vote cast for the ADC would be protected, using technology-driven approaches to monitor the election process, and he declared that nobody would be able to steal their votes.
