2027: Ekiti NDC reps candidate pledges dividends of democracy

Nigeria Democratic Congress House of Representatives candidate for Ekiti North 1 Federal Constituency, Apostle Ayodele David-Adesua, has said that his goal is to restore development to his constituents in Ikole and Oye local government areas of Ekiti State.

David-Adesua, who described poor representation of his constituency at the National Assembly as the bane of development of the place, said he had decided to contest to effect change along the line of the NDC ideology, ‘service to the people’.

The NDC candidate said in a statement made available in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday that “for too long, Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1 has cried out. For too long, our fathers, our mothers, our youth, and our elderly in Ikole and Oye have waited for the true dividends of democracy that were promised to us.

“But roads are left undone, jobs are scarce, our schools, our hospitals are in need and our voices, muffled. Ekiti Oke has not been properly represented in the National Assembly. The result is the inadequate development that we see and feel in our communities every single day.”

The politician, who said he was in the 2027 House of Representatives race for service for the benefit of mankind and to redress the neglect and lack of development, said, “This is not another politician seeking self-service.

“This is a servant coming with a burden – a burden to see development return to our communities, a burden to see prosperity for our society, a burden to lift our youth, to empower our women, and to protect the well-being of our elderly who built this land with their sweat,” he said.

David-Adesua who said he was capable and reliable to import dividends of democracy into the constituency for the benefit of all, solicited support of all eligible voters in the constituency in the interest of the progress of the communities in Oye and Ikole local government areas.

He said, “I am not coming to represent myself. I am coming to represent you – the farmer in Ikole, the trader in Oye, the graduate seeking work, the widow, the student, and the elder on his walking stick. I chose NDC not because of power, but because of its sacred ideology – service to the people. This is a party that believes government must work for the common man.

“To those who know me, to those who have walked with me, to those who have seen my antecedents – you can attest to one thing: I have always loved to serve. Not for titles. Not for self. But for the benefit of mankind and for the glory of God”, David-Adesua said.
