Yinka Alaseyori Expresses Regret for Comments Regarding Oyo Kidnapping Incident

Gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori has issued an apology to Nigerians who took offense to her recent comments regarding the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oyo State, stating that she never meant to dismiss or ignore anyone's feelings on the matter.

In a video posted to Instagram on Wednesday, Alaseyori expressed remorse for the backlash that ensued after her initial remarks, acknowledging that many Nigerians were unhappy with her words and felt that their concerns for the abducted victims were being overlooked.

According to Alaseyori, she had made a video two days prior discussing the kidnapped children and addressing the government, parastatals, and other agencies, but was met with criticism the following day, with many feeling that their voices were not being heard.

Alaseyori stated that she had unintentionally made some Nigerians feel like their voices were unheard, saying "I made them feel their voices are unheard" and acknowledging the hurt she may have caused.

The singer extended a heartfelt plea for forgiveness, particularly to mothers and families affected by the incident, assuring them that she would never intentionally disregard their pain or make them feel dismissed.

Alaseyori emphasized her sincerity, saying "You know me too well that I would never make you feel like that" and begged for forgiveness, saying "I am sorry, I beg in God's name, please, forgive me."

Previously, Alaseyori had urged Nigerians to continue praying for an end to the recent insecurity issues, emphasizing that the government is doing its best to restore peace.
