Vozinha, the Cape Verde goalkeeper, has had a change of fortune, with his mother, Ana Candida Evora, now set to watch him play against Uruguay in Miami on Sunday, after the United States granted her a visa, allowing her to travel from Praia, the Cape Verdean capital.

This development comes after Vozinha had earlier been overcome with emotion while talking to reporters about his mother's absence, following Cape Verde's goalless draw with Spain, a match in which he put in a heroic display.

The issue of his mother's visa has now been resolved, and she will be in the stands to witness her 40-year-old son's continued participation in the World Cup, a journey that has already seen Cape Verde stun many by holding Spain to a draw in their opening game.

Coach Pedro Leitao Brito, also known as Bubista, has expressed confidence ahead of the Uruguay match, stating that his team will not be intimidated, and that their goal is to play all their matches with courage and organization.

Bubista emphasized that Cape Verde's aim is to demonstrate their ability to compete with the best teams in the world, saying, "We didn’t come just to take part, we want to play all the matches and to be able to show that we have the level to take on the best teams in the world," and "Our aim is to play all the games with courage, in an organised way but also without fear."
