Village Boys Movement Steps Up Campaign for ADC to Yield Presidential Nomination to Obi

The Village Boys Movement has intensified its campaign for the African Democratic Congress to offer its presidential ticket to Peter Obi, following a nationwide mobilisation effort that spanned multiple states.

This mobilisation culminated in a "2 Million Man March and ADC Registration Drive" held simultaneously in 12 states, including Abia, Adamawa, Anambra, Ebonyi, Plateau, Jigawa, Kaduna, Ondo, Ogun, Oyo, Kogi, and Edo.

The organisers of the event noted that the large turnout demonstrated a growing demand for change at the grassroots level, with the movement's efforts aimed at capitalising on this momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the Village Headmaster of the movement, Tochukwu Ezeoke, the march served a dual purpose, showcasing public support for Obi while driving membership registration for the ADC, as part of a broader strategy to build a coordinated political base.

Ezeoke explained that the phased rollout of the mobilisation was a deliberate move, intended to sustain engagement and maintain momentum across different regions in the coming weeks.

The Village Boys Movement maintained that the demand for credible leadership in the country has reached a critical point, with citizens becoming increasingly determined to shape Nigeria's democratic trajectory.

The movement also drew attention to ongoing political realignments and conversations among major stakeholders, including the Peoples Democratic Party, All Progressives Congress, Labour Party, and the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum.

Notably, calls for a Southern presidency are gaining traction within these blocs, prompting the Village Boys Movement to urge the ADC to grant Obi its presidential ticket in line with what it described as the popular will.

The movement reaffirmed its long-term objective of mobilising Nigerians across rural and urban communities to drive a "decisive political shift" in 2027, marking the beginning of a coordinated national awakening.

The Village Boys Movement stressed that the era of recycled leadership must give way to a new order, with Saturday's march marking the starting point of this transformation.
