Videos: Peller, Jarvis begin married life after colourful traditional wedding

Popular content creators Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, known as Peller, and Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, better known as Jarvis, on Saturday held their traditional wedding in a colourful ceremony in Lekki, Lagos State.

The couple completed traditional marriage rites before family members, friends and several celebrities after weeks of anticipation surrounding their wedding.

They later shared photos from the ceremony on Instagram, showing their traditional Benin attire and celebrating the start of their married life.

“Today, we become one. Two tribes, one love. Two families, one forever. A new chapter begins, and forever starts now,” they wrote in a joint post.

On Friday, the couple posted their final pre-wedding photos and told fans they had stopped counting down because they were “starting forever.”

Before the ceremony, Peller said during a livestream that he intends to spend his honeymoon across eight countries.

Their wedding follows months of public celebrations. In June, Peller proposed to Jarvis during a beachside ceremony at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Ghana, and the emotional moment quickly went viral on social media.

A week later, he paid her bride price during a traditional introduction in Benin City, describing it as the beginning of their journey together.

The couple subsequently announced August 1, 2026, as their wedding date and shared behind-the-scenes clips from their wedding-themed video shoot, including a playful mock argument that amused crew members.

They had earlier formalised their union in a court wedding on July 29 attended by relatives, friends and media personality Daddy Freeze.

During the civil ceremony, Peller drew laughter after reacting to the registrar’s explanation that bigamy is a criminal offence punishable by at least five years in prison without the option of a fine.

He also revealed that he attended private traditional pre-marriage counselling in Ikorodu to learn how to care better for Jarvis and become a responsible husband.
