ValueJet Enhances Technical Expertise of Its Maintenance Crew

ValueJet has reiterated its dedication to upholding stringent safety standards, achieving operational excellence, and fostering human capital development, as evidenced by its aircraft maintenance engineers' participation in Boeing's Advanced Technical Training Programme, specifically designed for Nigerian airline engineers.

This specialized programme commenced on June 16 in Lagos, offering ValueJet engineers an intensive training experience focused on the Boeing 737 Next-Generation (737NG) aircraft, with the training scheduled to conclude on July 29.

Conducted by Boeing, the training is part of the company's ongoing initiatives to promote aviation safety, workforce development, and operational readiness across the African continent.

The comprehensive training curriculum encompasses a broad range of topics, including Boeing 737NG avionics, airframe, powerplant, electrical systems, aircraft characteristics, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting techniques, safety protocols, human factors, and operational best practices.

Upon completing the programme, participants will be awarded European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)-aligned theoretical training certificates, thereby enhancing their professional credentials and technical expertise.

At the opening ceremony, Captain Omololu Majekodunmi, Managing Director and Accountable Officer of ValueJet, emphasized the significance of the programme as a substantial investment in the future of Nigerian aviation.

He stated, "Safety remains the foundation of our operations at ValueJet, and as we expand our fleet from the CRJ to include Boeing aircraft, it is crucial that we continue to invest in our technical personnel to ensure they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain the highest safety and operational standards."
