University of Jos set to restart first-semester examinations on April 13

The University of Jos has announced that the 1st semester examinations will resume on Monday, April 13, 2026, after being postponed due to security concerns in the state, with the affected papers now scheduled to take place on this new date.

A management meeting was held on Friday, April 3, 2026, to assess the situation and determine the best course of action, taking into account the recent threats to students' safety that led to an extension of the Easter holidays.

According to Emmanuel Madugu, the Deputy Registrar for Information and Public Relations, the examinations will recommence on April 13, 2026, starting with the papers that were initially postponed from March 30.

Students have been advised to consult their Faculty Examinations Time Table Officer for further clarification on the revised examination schedule, as outlined in the statement released by the university.

Management has assured students who are still on campus that their safety is a top priority, and that security measures have been significantly enhanced to protect them.

The university is urging students to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity immediately to the University Security Division, in order to maintain a safe and secure environment.
