United Nations expresses commitment to forming a sincere collaborative relationship with Zamfara, says Deputy Secretary-General

A high-level United Nations team, led by Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, visited Zamfara state on April 10, 2026, accompanied by several key country representatives, including Elsie Attafuah of UNDP, Cheikh Toure of UNODC, Wafaa Saeed of UNICEF, Sharon Dimanche of IOM, Arjun Jain of UNHCR, Krittayawan Boonto of UNAIDS, and Francis Kuawu of UNFPA.

The presentations delivered by the Zamfara State Government were deemed clear and sufficient by the UN delegation, with Amina Mohammed stating that the information provided was enough to establish a partnership.

Amina Mohammed noted that the presentations showcased the state government's passion for collaboration, which is a crucial factor in attracting investors who want to understand the needs and goals of potential partners.
