Turmoil Erupts as City Boys' Upliftment Efforts Unravel in Imo

The City Boys Movement's empowerment programme for the people of South East descended into chaos as participants frantically competed for essential livelihood support items, including sewing machines, deep freezers, grinding machines, and laptops, at the event held at Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square, Owerri, Imo State.

Security operatives were present, but their efforts were insufficient to contain the surging crowd, which broke through the barrier to jostle for the items, just as the National Leader of the City Boys Movement, Seyi Tinubu, was about to commence the distribution to some beneficiaries.

In an address prior to the distribution, the director of the movement in Imo State, Pascal Ikechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, announced that they had resolved to collaborate with the Bola Tinubu administration to secure a fair share for the Igbo people.

Cubana Chief Priest expressed his people's desire for a fair share, stating "What we have shown you today is abundant love, and we expect that in return", and acknowledged the historical struggles of the Igbo people, saying "Ndigbo, we are people defeated in war", and that they are "tired of fighting" and seeking a more sensible approach.

Cubana Chief Priest emphasized the need for partnership, saying "We have decided to partner with the government at the centre" and "We are not ready to fight", having tried that approach in the past without success, and instead opting for a collaborative approach, expressing hope that Seyi Tinubu would reciprocate their gesture "in a dozen-fold".

Cubana Chief Priest also reflected on the previous election, stating "At the last election, I didn’t support Asiwaju; I had to be an Igbo boy", and acknowledged the competitive nature of politics, saying "Politics is a game, and it’s a game you love to win" and expressing his desire to avoid another loss.
