This development comes after Esmaeil Baqaei, a spokesman for Iran's foreign ministry, disclosed that Tehran had presented a 14-point proposal aimed at ending the war, and that Washington had responded to this plan via Pakistani intermediaries.

Trump expressed his awareness of the productive discussions between his representatives and Iran, suggesting that these talks could yield a highly favorable outcome for all parties involved, as stated on his Truth Social platform.

The US-Israel alliance launched a series of attacks on Iran on February 28, resulting in the death of the Islamic republic's supreme leader, and prompting Tehran to retaliate with strikes on US military bases and Israeli targets in the region.

A ceasefire was established on April 8, followed by a single round of direct peace negotiations in Islamabad, which ultimately ended in a deadlock between the two nations.

Since the onset of the war, Iran has maintained control over the Strait of Hormuz, severely restricting the flow of essential resources such as oil, gas, and fertilizer to the global economy, while the United States has imposed a counter-blockade on Iranian ports.

According to Trump, numerous countries have requested American assistance in navigating the strategic waterway and exiting the Gulf, prompting the US to offer its support.

Trump stated that the US will provide guidance to ships from various countries, ensuring their safe passage through the restricted waterways, thereby enabling them to resume their activities without hindrance, as part of an initiative dubbed "Project Freedom".
