Trump criticizes conservative pundits for speaking out against military action in Iran

US President Donald Trump unleashed a scathing attack on several prominent conservative commentators on Thursday, labeling them as attention-seeking "NUT JOBS" for their criticism of his handling of the conflict with Iran.

In a lengthy social media post spanning nearly 500 words, Trump singled out former Fox News hosts Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly, as well as podcasters Candace Owens and Alex Jones, for their vocal disapproval of his actions.

These four individuals have been vocal in their criticism of Trump's decision to engage in conflict with Iran, accusing him of reneging on his anti-war campaign promises and succumbing to pressure from Israel.

Their criticism has exposed a rift among Trump's supporters regarding the war, posing a significant political risk for the Republican Party ahead of the November midterm elections.

Trump lambasted the commentators, stating that they "don't have what it takes" and are merely seeking to garner attention through their criticism, dubbing them "NUT JOBS, TROUBLEMAKERS" who will say anything for publicity.

Despite having previously supported Trump's "Make America Great Again" movement, the four commentators have had public feuds with the president, including Kelly, who famously clashed with Trump during his first presidential campaign.

During that campaign, Kelly had questioned Trump about his derogatory remarks towards women, prompting Trump to respond with a joke about comedian Rosie O'Donnell and later sparking controversy with a comment that seemed to suggest Kelly's tough questioning was motivated by her menstrual cycle.

Trump revisited this incident on Thursday, referencing the question Kelly had asked him and launching personal attacks on the other three commentators, including criticizing Carlson for not having a college degree.

He also expressed his hope that French First Lady Brigitte Macron would win her defamation lawsuit against Owens, and stated that Jones deserved to go bankrupt after losing a lawsuit related to his claims about a mass school shooting being a hoax.

Owens, 36, has faced backlash for her claim that the French First Lady is a man, prompting Trump to weigh in on the matter, saying that Brigitte Macron is "a far more beautiful woman than Candace" and that it's "not even close".

Owens responded to Trump's comments with a brief post on X, suggesting that it may be time for the president to be "put in a home".

Alex Jones also responded on X, stating that he has made it clear that he no longer supports Trump and is thankful that the president has made it clear that he has no affiliation with him, adding that "the new Trump is a rotting husk of the old Trump".
