Trump Claims America Can Handle Iran Without Assistance From Foreign Partners

The American president had been vocal about his disappointment with world powers for declining to send warships to escort tankers through the narrow waterway, a crucial passage for crude oil transit.

As the war enters its third week, Trump has emphasized the significant impact of US and Israeli air strikes, which have severely damaged Iran's leadership, military facilities, and weapons manufacturing capacity.

Trump took to his Truth Social platform to express his sentiments, stating that most NATO allies have informed the US of their reluctance to get involved in the military operation against Iran, prompting him to declare that their assistance is no longer needed or desired.

He further asserted that the US never required the help of NATO countries, Japan, Australia, or South Korea, and boldly stated that the US does not need the help of anyone.

Trump expressed his lack of surprise at the allies' decision, citing his long-held view that NATO is a one-way street, where the US spends hundreds of billions of dollars annually to protect these countries.

The US-Israeli war on Iran has seen significant expansion across the Middle East, with Iran targeting the energy facilities of neighboring crude-producing countries and threatening tankers transiting the Strait of Hormuz, effectively closing the vital waterway.

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical passage through which one-fifth of the world's crude oil passes, and its closure has significant implications for global oil supply.

French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Tuesday that France would not participate in operations to open the Strait of Hormuz amidst the current context of air strikes and military dangers, but suggested that France could participate in an escort system once the situation becomes calmer.

Britain has also declined Washington's request for assistance, contrary to Trump's suggestion on Monday that Paris and London would lend a hand to the US in the operation.
