The visit is anticipated to witness the advancement of a £746 million financing deal between UK Export Finance, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), and the Federal Ministry of Finance, aimed at rehabilitating major ports in the country.

The financing deal will specifically focus on refurbishing two key facilities: the Lagos Port Complex (Apapa Quays) and the Tin Can Island Port Complex, with the goal of modernising port infrastructure and improving trade efficiency.

The APC views this initiative as a crucial step towards strengthening Nigeria's position as a maritime hub in West Africa, while also boosting economic growth.
