Tinubu's policy overhaul is setting Nigeria on a path to sustained economic growth, according to the Information Minister

Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris asserts that President Bola Tinubu's bold reforms are repositioning Nigeria for long-term prosperity through enhanced economic stability, improved investor confidence, and accelerated national development.

Idris made this statement on Tuesday during a courtesy visit from the leadership of the APC Forum of Former Presiding Officers of State Houses of Assembly, which was led by its Chairman, Sen. Wasiu Esinlokun, in Abuja.

The minister commended the forum for its ongoing contributions to democratic governance and national development, praising its dedication to the country's progress.

Idris informed the delegation that the Federal Government's media organisations, including the Nigerian Television Authority, the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, and the News Agency of Nigeria, would provide comprehensive coverage of the forum's activities.

According to Idris, these organisations will cover the Forum's upcoming National Executive Council and Board of Trustees meeting, aligning with the Ministry's mandate to keep Nigerians accurately informed about matters of national importance.

Within three years, the Tinubu administration has implemented significant reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy, foreign exchange reforms, and improved fiscal capacity for the Federal Government and sub-national governments, Idris noted.

Other key achievements include the expansion of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, growth in external reserves, improved Gross Domestic Product performance, and landmark infrastructure projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, the minister said.

Idris also highlighted the administration's strengthened efforts to tackle insecurity, demonstrating its commitment to addressing the country's challenges.

President Bola Tinubu has taken courageous decisions that previous administrations avoided for decades, Idris stated, resulting in greater fiscal stability, improved investor confidence, enhanced infrastructure development, and expanding opportunities for citizens.

The foundation has been laid for a more prosperous future, Idris declared, emphasizing the positive impact of the administration's reforms.

The minister urged forum members to utilize their experience and grassroots reach to deepen public understanding of the Renewed Hope Agenda and the long-term benefits of the administration's reforms.

Esinlokun explained that the forum's visit was intended to brief the minister on its activities and seek the ministry's support in publicising its forthcoming meeting, which will bring together former Speakers of State Houses of Assembly, former governors, former ministers, and distinguished senators.

The forum remains committed to mobilising grassroots support for the Renewed Hope Agenda through sustained engagement with Nigerians across the country, Esinlokun said.

Other attendees at the courtesy visit included the Secretary of the Forum, Prof. Matoh Dogara, and the Director of Production, Publication and Documentary, Mr Ibidapo Okunnu, as well as the Deputy Director of Public Relations and Protocol, Ms Fatoke Folasade, and others.
