Tinubu welcomes Chadian leader, boosts relations between nations

nPresident Bola Tinubu on Thursday hosted President Idriss Déby of Chad at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
nThe brief high-level meeting underscores ongoing efforts by both countries to strengthen bilateral relations and deepen cooperation on regional security, trade, and economic development.
nThe News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Tinubu received the Chadian leader in a closed-door session, where both leaders discussed issues of mutual interest and regional collaboration.
nThe meeting took place shortly before Tinubu’s planned trip to Jos to commiserate with victims of recent attacks in Plateau.
nNigeria and Chad, key stakeholders in the Lake Chad Basin, have continued to collaborate in addressing shared security challenges.
nBoth countries are actively involved in tackling insurgency and cross-border threats affecting the region.
nDéby’s visit underscores the enduring relationship between both countries and their mutual interest in deepening strategic cooperation.
nThe visit is also seen as part of broader efforts to reinforce multilateral cooperation within the Lake Chad Basin. (NAN)
