Tinubu vows to vanquish terrorism, boost economic growth in promise to Nigerian citizens

President Bola Tinubu made a solemn vow to Nigerians on Monday night, stating that the nation would never yield to forces seeking to disrupt its harmony, unity, and sovereignty, and reaffirmed his commitment to defeating terrorists.

The President's assurance came during an interfaith breaking of fast at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he was hosting religious and traditional leaders.

Tinubu acknowledged the vital role that religious and traditional leaders play in fostering peace, stability, and moral guidance within their respective communities.

He noted that although the country faces challenges, with terrorists becoming increasingly desperate as they are being defeated, Nigeria will ultimately emerge victorious, and he declared, "Nigeria will never surrender."

Tinubu also pledged to continue utilizing his mandate to bolster the economy and promote prosperity, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to serve and promising to remain faithful in discharging his duties.

He reported that the economy has begun to recover, with pensioners gradually receiving relief, and stated that the administration has taken decisive steps to stabilize public finances and avert economic collapse.

Tinubu proudly announced that the country has been saved from bankruptcy, which had been a daunting challenge when his administration took office, and noted that no state governor now struggles to borrow from banks to pay workers' salaries.

The President reiterated his commitment to increasing investment in critical sectors such as agriculture and education, and urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, assuring them that his administration remains focused on building a safer, more secure, and prosperous nation.

Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe, thanked the President for hosting the interfaith breaking of fast, which he said symbolized unity, and prayed for peace, stability, and divine guidance for the country and its leadership.

Abubakar represented the President of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar, at the event.

Archbishop Daniel Okoh, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, assured the President of the church's support for efforts to strengthen the economy and security, and represented the President of the Evangelical Church Winning All, Dr Stephen Baba-Panya.
