President Bola Tinubu has offered his sympathies to the family and associates of the late High Chief Festus Adegboye Onigbinde, a distinguished football administrator and former Super Eagles head coach, who passed away on Monday at the age of 88.

The President's condolences were also extended to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the National Sports Commission (NSC), as well as to Chief Onigbinde's professional colleagues and numerous fans who admired his remarkable career.

As the first indigenous coach of the Super Eagles in 1982, Chief Onigbinde made history, and his leadership guided the team to the Africa Cup of Nations final in 1984, a feat that showcased his exceptional coaching prowess.

According to President Tinubu, the late football administrator will be remembered for his unwavering discipline, unshakeable integrity, remarkable foresight, and unrelenting passion for football.
