Prince Emmanuel Okotie-Eboh, the former Regent of Warri Kingdom and son of Nigeria's first Finance Minister, the late Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh, believes President Bola Tinubu deserves re-election based on his performance over the last four years.

n

According to Okotie-Eboh, if Tinubu is re-elected in the 2027 elections, the reforms he has introduced will mature and become more beneficial to Nigerians, leading to further growth and development.

n

Nigeria's foreign reserves have risen to an all-time high of $52.5 billion, the highest level in 17 years, which Okotie-Eboh describes as a major boost to investors' confidence, citing this as a key achievement of the Tinubu administration.

n

Okotie-Eboh has been closely observing President Tinubu since he took office on May 29, 2023, and has witnessed the transformation of Nigeria, including the rise of foreign reserves from their lowest level to a record high.

n

He notes that while the reforms have been tough on the people, the President's efforts have started to yield positive results, with the country turning a corner after inheriting a weak economy in May 2023.

n

Okotie-Eboh points out that despite still relatively high debts, they are being serviced on time, and foreign obligations are being met, marking a significant improvement from the past when foreign airlines struggled to repatriate their funds.

n

International organizations, including the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, have credited President Tinubu with improving the economic sector, with the Central Bank Governor earning the African Banker of the Year award.

n

Okotie-Eboh believes that the progress made so far will translate into improved social welfare packages for Nigerians in the next four years, citing the increased welfare for military personnel, whose salaries have been raised by 35 to 75 per cent.

n

The focus on the Federal Government's achievements has overshadowed the fact that states are now able to pay workers' salaries and embark on capital development projects, as confirmed by Abia State Governor Alex Otti.

n

Okotie-Eboh argues that President Tinubu's ability to bring people together, regardless of party affiliation, and his commitment to working with performers like Nyesom Wike, make him the best person to lead the country forward.
