Tinubu delays Ogun visit, redirects to Jos instead

President Bola Tinubu's trip to Iperu, Ogun State, initially set for Thursday, has been rescheduled, according to a statement from the Presidency on Wednesday, as he will no longer be flagging off operations at the Gateway International Cargo Airport on that day.

The postponement comes as President Tinubu is now slated to visit Jos, the capital of Plateau state, to offer condolences to the government and people of the state following the recent gun attacks that resulted in the loss of innocent lives.

A statement issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga outlined the President's revised itinerary, which includes traveling to Lagos to observe Good Friday after his visit to Plateau state.

On Saturday, April 4, President Tinubu will make his way to Ogun State, where he will commission the Gateway International Cargo Airport and inaugurate two commercial aircraft designed to facilitate the export and import of goods, thereby boosting the state's economic growth.

During his visit to Ogun State, the President will also inaugurate the new Federal Operations Unit of the Nigerian Customs Service building and its operational vehicles, as part of his engagement in the state.

Following the events in Ogun State, President Tinubu will return to Lagos to continue celebrating the Easter holiday, during which he is expected to commission several infrastructure projects undertaken by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's administration.

Some of the projects to be commissioned by the President in Lagos include the iconic Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System Building, a Multi-Agency Complex named after him, and a school complex.

Before heading back to Abuja, President Tinubu's schedule includes a visit to Bayelsa State on April 10, where he will commission some of the completed projects of Governor Duoye Diri.
