Tinubu arrives back in Abuja following Eid-el-Kabir celebrations

President Bola Tinubu has made a return to Abuja, bringing an end to his Eid-el-Kabir holiday in Lagos, which was filled with numerous high-level meetings and engagements of a political, governmental, and national nature.

Upon arrival, the President's plane landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at precisely 5:17 pm, where he was greeted by a host of senior officials, including Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu.

During his time in Lagos, President Tinubu received a visit from Vice President Kashim Shettima, as well as various groups who came to pay their respects as part of the traditional Sallah homage, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who led a delegation from the Senate.

The President also met with the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, led by its Chairman and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, in addition to APC stakeholders from Oyo State, including governorship candidate Sen. Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli.

Furthermore, President Tinubu received APC candidates for the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly from Lagos State, who came to pay their respects during the holiday period.

On Monday, President Tinubu attended the International Fleet Review at Eko Atlantic City Waterfront, an event marking the 70th Anniversary of the Nigerian Navy, where he commissioned three Nigerian Naval vessels: NNS Oloibiri, NNS Mambila, and NNS Gurara.

Also on Monday, the President met with His Excellency Romuald Wadagni, President of the Republic of Benin, in a meeting aimed at strengthening the long-standing friendship, regional cooperation, and economic partnership between the two neighbouring countries.

Prior to the Eid-el-Kabir holiday, President Tinubu had visited Lagos to take part in the All Progressives Congress primaries, where candidates were elected for various positions, including state house of assembly, governor, House of Representatives, senate, and presidency.

During the primaries, President Tinubu cast his vote in Lagos and emerged as the party's torchbearer in the 2027 presidential election, garnering overwhelming support from nearly 11 million voters nationwide.
