Third Phase Amnesty Boss Mourns With State Lawmaker Over Father's Demise

The National Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (Phase 3), General Elaye Slaboh, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Late High Chief Capt. Victor Ben Tueridei (Rtd.), father of Hon. Selekeye Victor Ben, who represents Southern Ijaw Constituency 4 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.

In a condolence message made available to the press, General Slaboh, speaking on behalf of the entire leadership and stakeholders of the Third Phase of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, extended heartfelt sympathies to Hon. Selekeye and the bereaved family during this moment of grief and personal loss.

He described the late High Chief Capt. Victor Ben Tueridei (Rtd.) as a father figure not only to his biological children but also to many within and outside the Ijaw nation. According to Slaboh, the deceased was a man of high moral values, discipline, and uprightness who dedicated a significant portion of his life to service — both in the military and in the development of his community.

“The death of a father is one of life’s deepest pains. We understand the weight of this loss and join you in mourning a great man whose contributions to humanity, the Niger Delta region, and Nigeria at large will not be forgotten,” General Slaboh stated.

He further noted that the loss of such a respected elder statesman is not only a personal loss to Hon. Selekeye Victor Ben and his family but also a loss to the people of Southern Ijaw and the entire Bayelsa State. The deceased, according to him, left behind a legacy of integrity, leadership, and service that will continue to inspire generations to come.

General Elaye Slaboh prayed for strength, comfort, and divine grace for Hon. Selekeye Victor Ben and his family as they navigate this difficult period, urging them to find peace in the remarkable life their father lived and the indelible marks he left behind.
