The child of ADC's David Mark endorses Tinubu for another term

Blessing Onuh, a member of the House of Representatives and daughter of African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Chairman Senator David Mark, has emerged as a key supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election bid, joining the leadership of a pro-Tinubu campaign organisation at a critical juncture in Nigeria's political landscape.

This development has placed the ADC in a difficult position, as Onuh's involvement in the President's re-election campaign raises questions about loyalty and cohesion within the party, particularly given her father's prominent role in the opposition coalition.

Onuh's appointment as National Woman Leader of the Take Action Campaign Organisation was announced on Saturday by the organisation's Director General, Tony Nwulu, a former member of the House of Representatives who sponsored the 'Not Too Young To Run' bill in the 8th National Assembly.

Nwulu presented Onuh with her appointment letter at the organisation's campaign office in Abuja, where she pledged to work tirelessly to ensure President Tinubu's victory in the upcoming election.

Onuh's new role positions her squarely within the President's re-election campaign, despite her father's ongoing efforts to coordinate an opposition coalition under the ADC banner, which includes figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former governors Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, Rauf Aregbesola, Aminu Tambuwal, Liyel Imoke, and Emeka Ihedioha.

The timing of Onuh's appointment is notable, given the ADC's efforts to build a broad coalition to challenge Tinubu's re-election, an alliance that has already faced internal setbacks, including the high-profile defection of Atiku's son, Abba Abubakar, to the ruling APC in January.

Abba Abubakar's defection, in which he pledged to work for Tinubu's second-term bid and directed his political structure to mobilise support for the President, has added to the pressure on the ADC to maintain a united front.

Onuh's alignment with the pro-Tinubu group is seen as a significant development, as it highlights the growing pressure on the ADC to present a unified opposition to the President's re-election bid.

According to Nwulu, the Take Action Campaign Organisation is focused on promoting the administration's achievements and explaining its policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda to voters across the country.
