Teen's remains discovered at University of Idaho swimming facility

A gruesome discovery has been made at the University of Ibadan, where the lifeless body of a teenage boy was found floating in the institution's swimming pool, prompting a murder investigation by the Oyo State Police Command.

The probe was initiated after the university's Chief Security Officer alerted authorities to the presence of a body in the pool, according to DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, the Public Relations Officer.

Following the report, police detectives were swiftly deployed to the scene to begin their inquiry, and upon arrival, they noticed blood seeping from the victim's mouth and nose, as well as bruising and blood stains in the surrounding area.

Items believed to have belonged to the deceased, including a shirt and a pair of shoes, were retrieved from the poolside, providing potential clues in the investigation.

Preliminary findings suggest that the victim, estimated to be between 14 and 15 years old, was not a student at the university and may have entered the facility by scaling the fence after hours, according to DSP Ayanlade.

The body was subsequently transported to Adeoyo General Hospital, where the victim was confirmed dead and is currently being held in the mortuary as the investigation continues.
