Step down immediately; Nigerians are at risk under your administration' – PRP urges Tinubu

The Peoples Redemption Party has urged President Bola Tinubu to step down due to the escalating insecurity in the country, citing his inability to fulfill his primary responsibility of safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians.

This call to action was made by the PRP National Chairman, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, who stated that the spread of violent crime across the nation has left no Nigerian feeling secure, and that citizens cannot afford to wait until the 2027 general elections for a change in leadership.

According to Dr. Baba-Ahmed, it is now evident that President Tinubu has failed miserably in his duty to protect Nigerian citizens, and that the security challenges facing the country have worsened under the All Progressives Congress-led administration.

The PRP National Chairman emphasized that the current state of insecurity has made every Nigerian vulnerable to violent crime, from children to adults, and from one region to another, leaving no one feeling safe under the current leadership.

Dr. Baba-Ahmed noted that the entire country is now plagued by rampant violence, with criminals exploiting the nation's security weaknesses, and that this has become a grim reality that Nigerians are being forced to accept.

The party also expressed concern over the growing vulnerability of schoolchildren and other soft targets, who have become easy prey for criminal groups, and that this is a situation that should not be tolerated.

Dr. Baba-Ahmed criticized President Tinubu's handling of security, arguing that the concentration of power in his hands has not led to improved protection for citizens, and that there is little evidence to suggest that the President can turn things around.

The PRP chairman stated that President Tinubu's failure to uphold the principles of accountability and responsibility would not be tolerated in most democracies, and that Nigerians should demand an end to this ineptitude and indifference.

Dr. Baba-Ahmed stressed that President Tinubu should resign immediately, as his failure to secure the country can no longer be tolerated, and that Nigerians should not be expected to wait until the next election to seek change.

The PRP National Chairman maintained that the Nigerians who continue to fall victim to violent crime do not have the luxury of waiting until the next election, and that there is nothing democratic about allowing incompetent and uncaring leadership to complete its tenure regardless of performance.
