Shettima attends wedding of Zulum's offspring, joined by House Speaker Abbas and other notable guests

Vice President Kashim Shettima led a high-profile delegation to the wedding of Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum's children in Maiduguri on Saturday, accompanied by Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas and several other prominent figures. This notable event brought together numerous federal lawmakers, ministers, and governors, showcasing the strong bonds of unity and solidarity.

The wedding celebration involved the union of four couples: Aisha Zulum and Mohammed Idi Barde, Mamman Zulum and Yagana Busuguma, Umar Zulum and Fatima Jidda, as well as Abba Umara and Aisha Musa. These couples exchanged their vows during the wedding Fatiha, which took place at the Maiduguri Central Mosque, situated near the palace of the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin Elkanemi.

Kashim Shettima played a significant role in the ceremony, serving as the 'wali', or bride's representative, responsible for giving Aisha Zulum away in marriage to Mohammed Idi Barde. This gesture underscored the strong ties between the families and dignitaries present at the occasion.

The guest list was a veritable who's who of Nigerian politics and society, featuring notable personalities such as former Vice President Babagana Kingibe, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Nentawe Yilwatda, and Deputy Senate President Jibril Barau. Alhaji Aliko Dangote, a prominent business leader, was also in attendance, alongside former governor of Borno State Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and former minister of communication Professor Isa Pantami.

A significant number of state governors attended the wedding, including those from Kwara, Ogun, Gombe, Yobe, Kebbi, Zamfara, Sokoto, Niger, Jigawa, Kano, Nasarawa, Katsina, and Kaduna states. The governors of Imo and Oyo states were represented by their deputies, ensuring that their respective states were also part of the celebration.

In addition to the governors, various ministers were present, representing key portfolios such as agriculture, budget and economic planning, housing and urban development, health and social welfare, education, and regional development. The minister of state for regional development was also among the dignitaries who attended the wedding.
