Shallipopi Receives Royal Endorsement from Benin Monarch, Set to Entertain at 10-Year Coronation Celebration

The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, has expressed his admiration for Crown Uzama, also known as Shallipopi, an Afrobeat singer who has been instrumental in promoting the cultural heritage of Benin through his music.

The Oba's praise for Shallipopi has led to an open invitation for the artist to perform at his 10th coronation anniversary, scheduled to take place in October this year.

The monarch acknowledged that Shallipopi has a significant following within the palace, with the Chief Press Secretary, Osaignovo Iguobaro, quoting the Oba as saying that some of the singer's fans are also present in the palace.

The Oba commended Shallipopi's efforts in promoting Benin's cultural heritage, stating that he has the support of the palace and will continue to be included in their prayers due to his positive impact on Edo culture worldwide.

During his visit to the palace, Shallipopi was treated to a warm welcome, accompanied by Jerry Dl and the famous Pluto brothers and family members, and he even signed his autograph on the shirt of infant Prince Idugbowa Ewuare after paying his respects to the Benin throne.
