The APC primary election took place on Saturday, marking a key step in the lead-up to the 2027 general election, with Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, vying for the House of Representatives ticket under the ruling party.

As the Imo State coordinator of the City Boy Movement, Okechukwu had pinned his hopes on the election, driven by a desire to promote youth empowerment, grassroots development, and increased political engagement among young people in the constituency.

Despite his efforts, Okechukwu was unable to secure the party's ticket, dealing a setback to his ambitions.

On Sunday, Seyi Tinubu, who serves as the Grand Patron of the City Boy Movement, took to Instagram to urge Okechukwu to remain hopeful, suggesting that setbacks can sometimes pave the way for even greater victories.

Tinubu's message of support included the words "Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war," as he encouraged Okechukwu to stay positive and keep his head up, acknowledging his capabilities with the phrase "We know what you are capable of achieving," addressed to @cubana_chiefpriest.
