Senator Lawan Wins APC Nomination for Yobe North Seat in 2027

Senator Ahmad Lawan, the former President of the 9th Senate, has been designated as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Yobe North Senatorial District, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This development was announced by his Media Adviser, Ezrel Tabiowo, in a statement, which came after Senator Lawan's nomination on Monday.

According to Ezrel Tabiowo, Senator Lawan expressed his appreciation to the APC's national and state leadership, as well as Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, and the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, for their support.

Tabiowo noted that the stakeholders in Yobe North Senatorial District had confirmed Senator Lawan's candidacy, following clearance by the party's national leadership.

Senator Lawan highlighted that Nigeria is undergoing a transformative period under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, marked by significant economic reforms and infrastructure revitalization.

He acknowledged the administration's commitment to taking crucial steps to reposition the economy for long-term growth, despite the challenges involved.

Senator Lawan cited the Renewed Hope Agenda as a driving force behind substantial investments in areas such as student loans, consumer credit, and agricultural revitalization, which directly address the needs of the people.

He emphasized the importance of his return to the Senate, where he would work closely with President Tinubu's administration to ensure that Yobe North, Yobe State, and the North East region benefit from the ongoing national transformation.

Outlining his vision for 2027, Senator Lawan pledged to integrate Yobe North into the digital economy, equip youths with market-ready skills, and support farmers in transitioning to commercial agribusiness.

He called for a peaceful and issue-based political season, while assuring his constituents of continued democratic dividends under the APC.
