Senator Bwacha wins PDP governorship ticket in Taraba State

Serving as the former Deputy Senate Minority Leader, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha has been officially endorsed as the Peoples Democratic Party's sole candidate for the governorship position in the upcoming 2027 general election.

This affirmation process was held on Monday at the Shield Hotel in Jalingo, with the party's State Working Committee and officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission overseeing the event.

According to the PDP State Legal Adviser, Muhammad Danlami, the affirmation procedure adhered strictly to the party's internal guidelines and the Electoral Act, ensuring a seamless and legitimate process.

Danlami referenced Section 87(3) of the Electoral Act, which permits a political party to adopt a consensus or affirmation procedure when presenting a sole aspirant for any office, provided the party's guidelines are followed.

Following his affirmation, Senator Bwacha outlined his campaign's core focus on unity and purposeful leadership, driven by a commitment to upholding righteousness and addressing existing governance gaps in the state.

Bwacha pledged to prioritize infrastructure development, youth empowerment, education, and the agricultural sector as the foundation of his administration, promising an inclusive government that fosters a sense of belonging among all citizens.

Addressing the electorate, Senator Bwacha cautioned citizens against transactional politicians who are attempting to buy votes, advising voters to remain resolute and prioritize the state's long-term prosperity over temporary financial gains.

Bwacha urged voters to cast their ballots according to their conscience, warning against the dangers of succumbing to financial inducements from unscrupulous politicians.

Reflecting on his political journey, Senator Bwacha described his return to the PDP as a strategic move aimed at unifying the party and leveraging the available time for planning and consultation to overcome past challenges.
