Security Concerns: MFM Cancels Late-Night Prayer Sessions, Directs Churches to Conclude Services by 8pm Across the Country

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries has taken a proactive step to address growing security concerns nationwide by suspending all overnight vigils and implementing a strict curfew for church programmes, which must now conclude by 8:00 p.m. across the country.

This directive, effective immediately, was outlined in a circular dated June 5, 2026, addressed to Regional Overseers and branch pastors, emphasizing the need for all church services, meetings, and programmes to end no later than 8:00 p.m. until further notice.

The church has also announced the indefinite suspension of overnight vigils and prayer meetings, recommending that such programmes be converted into evening prayer sessions that must still conclude on or before 8:00 p.m. if deemed necessary.

A memorandum signed by Temitope A. Olawale, Director of Administration, MFM International Headquarters and Nigeria, clarified that the decision was made as a precautionary measure in response to the prevailing security challenges in the country.

According to the statement, the directives are aimed at safeguarding the lives and well-being of MFM members in the face of the current security situation, with the goal of providing a safe environment for all.

The new guidelines apply universally to all branches, zones, and regions of the ministry nationwide, with Mega Regional Overseers tasked with ensuring immediate implementation and strict compliance within their respective jurisdictions.

Copies of the circular were distributed to key stakeholders, including the General Overseer, Assistant General Overseers, the Administrative Task Force, and various ministry departments such as Women on Fire, Tent Makers Ministries, and the Youth Ministry.

The church has urged all ministers, groups, and departments to adhere strictly to the directive, expressing hope for divine protection amid the security concerns, and concluding with a heartfelt prayer: "May the grace of God Almighty be with us all. Amen."
