The inclusion of Rwanda in the list of visa-free countries for Nigerian citizens is part of a broader trend among African nations to relax travel restrictions and promote intra-African mobility.

A significant proportion of the countries offering visa-free access to Nigerians are members of the Economic Community of West African States, or ECOWAS, which has a protocol in place allowing citizens of member states to travel freely within the region.

The full list of African countries that Nigerians can visit without a visa includes Benin Republic, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo.
