Regarding Ogboru and the ADC Farce: A Response to Okowa and the Oborevwori-Led APC Faction

It is utterly demoralizing to see Mr. Pius Eguono Onodjae, a man whose political rise was facilitated by Hon. Charles Oniyere, a beneficiary of Chief Great Ogboru's enduring benevolence, now using his position to disseminate misleading information as political commentary, prompting one to wonder if desperation or a more serious affliction has taken hold of him.

Mr. Eguono's submission is a carefully crafted web of deceit, devoid of substance and rooted in malice, which has been thoroughly examined and found to be a tapestry of falsehood from start to finish.

A crucial fact that must be clarified without ambiguity is that Chief Great Ogboru has never been affiliated with the Accord Party throughout his entire political career, as this party has always been associated with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

Any attempt to distort this fact can be attributed to either ignorance or a deliberate effort to deceive the public, leaving one to question whether Mr. Eguono is suffering from amnesia or feigning ignorance of the events of 2015.

In 2015, Senator Omo-Agege publicly confessed to conspiring with PDP chieftains to undermine Chief Ogboru's rightful victories in 2003, 2007, and 2011, and subsequently vowed to never again work against Ogboru's mandate.

However, in 2020, Senator Omo-Agege was seen celebrating at the Supreme Court as it upheld the election of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, a mandate he had pledged to help restore to Ogboru just 180 days earlier, prompting widespread accusations of betrayal.

It was Mr. Eguono and others who defended Senator Omo-Agege's actions, characterizing them as mere "politics," which raises the question of why Chief Ogboru is now being criticized for extending a gesture of sportsmanship to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori upon his electoral victory.

By what logic does Mr. Eguono now label Ogboru as an "extension" of Okowa and Sheriff, while Senator Omo-Agege is absolved of engaging in identical behavior, and what exactly is Chief Ogboru's transgression that warrants such condemnation.

Since 2003, Chief Ogboru has consistently demonstrated his political influence, with every PDP standard-bearer, from James Ibori to Sheriff Oborevwori, feeling the weight of his impact, and having expended his personal resources in the pursuit of liberating Delta State.

If there is any doubt about Ogboru's political clout, one need only ask the present governor about the circumstances that prevented him from securing a seat in the Delta State House of Assembly in 2011, which can be attributed to the formidable political force that Ogboru has consistently represented.

Today, Chief Ogboru remains committed to the ADC, a coalition he helped shape and position for future electoral success, and as Nigeria is a multi-party democracy, no individual holds a monopoly over political platforms, with numerous viable alternatives existing beyond the APC, ADC, and PDP.

Senator Omo-Agege is therefore free to return to the Accord Party, which has historically aligned with his ambitions, rather than following Ogboru across different political movements, and the year 2027 will ultimately serve as the arbiter of these debates, bearing witness to the will of the people and the strength of those who seek to lead them.

The anticipated outcome of the 2027 elections will not only be a personal triumph for Chief Ogboru but also a victory claimed and owned by the people of Delta State, according to Sylvester Obasere, a political analyst residing in Delta State.
