Recent Oyo rescue operation revives optimism for enhanced security in Nigeria, says Oyintiloye

Mr Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, has asserted that the successful rescue of abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State has revitalized public trust in the government's efforts to combat insecurity, thereby bolstering hopes for national stability.

The rescue operation, according to Oyintiloye, who spoke with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, has also thwarted attempts to politicize the abduction, serving as a testament to Nigeria's capacity to overcome terrorism and other violent crimes.

Oyintiloye commended President Bola Tinubu, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, the Nigerian Army, and other security agencies for their pivotal roles in securing the release of the victims, praising their collective efforts in ensuring the safe return of the abducted individuals.

The former lawmaker also lauded the courage and resilience of the rescued pupils and teachers during their captivity, emphasizing the need for authorities to provide them with necessary psychological support and rehabilitation to aid their recovery.

Oyintiloye urged governments at all levels to bolster the country's security architecture through enhanced intelligence gathering, improved inter-agency cooperation, and proactive measures against emerging threats, stressing that a robust security system is essential for economic recovery and sustainable development.

He congratulated President Bola Tinubu, the Oyo State governor, the victims, and the people of the state on the successful rescue, while extending his condolences to families of those who lost their loved ones, wishing their souls to rest in peace.

Oyintiloye called on security agencies to build upon the success of the operation by intensifying efforts to rescue other Nigerians still held captive, particularly in Borno and other affected areas, emphasizing the need for sustained action to ensure the safe return of all abducted individuals.

He also commiserated with the military over the casualties recorded during the rescue mission, acknowledging the sacrifices of security personnel in protecting the nation and ensuring that their memories would continue to be honored.
