Real Madrid hit by twin setbacks with key players ruled out

Real Madrid's already slim chances of catching up to Barcelona in La Liga have taken another hit, as both Eder Militao and Arda Guler have been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to injuries.
nThe club has confirmed that Militao, a 28-year-old Brazilian defender, is dealing with a left thigh injury, while 21-year-old Turkish attacking midfielder Guler is out with a right thigh problem.
nSpanish media reports indicate that both players will be sidelined for several weeks, which means they will miss the final six matches of the season, including the highly anticipated Clasico against Barcelona on May 10.
nFortunately, neither Militao nor Guler is currently at risk of missing the World Cup finals, scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19, which will be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
nWith nine points separating them from defending champions Barcelona, Real Madrid's title hopes are dwindling, and the La Liga championship represents the only remaining opportunity for major silverware for both teams this season.
