PSV Eindhoven claim their 27th Eredivisie championship

With five matches still to be played, PSV Eindhoven have secured their 27th Dutch championship title, thanks to Feyenoord's 0-0 stalemate with Volendam on Sunday.
nA 17-point cushion at the top of the table has rendered PSV's lead insurmountable, following their hard-fought 4-3 win over Utrecht on Saturday, which came after two consecutive defeats.
nPeter Bosz's team had taken a firm grip on the title race early on, conceding just four points before the winter break, to set themselves up for a successful campaign.
nThis achievement marks PSV's third consecutive title, a feat they last accomplished in 2008, underscoring their dominance in the current era of Dutch football.
nFeyenoord, under the guidance of current Liverpool manager Arne Slot, had previously held the championship title in 2023, while Ajax, currently sitting in fifth place, have now gone four years without claiming the trophy.
nPSV's latest title triumph guarantees their participation in the Champions League league phase for the upcoming season, a fitting reward for their impressive performance.
